During his speech at the government meeting on August 31, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who once again accused Azerbaijan of committing "genocide," diminished this word in importance so much without any reason, and this is a manifestation of irresponsible manipulation activities of Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan said in a statement regarding the allegations made by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during his speech at the government meeting, Report informs.
“We would like to remind Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the trucks sent by the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society to Aghdam-Khankendi direction are waiting for the passage to Khankandi. If the Armenian side really needed the transported goods, they would not have demanded that the peacekeeping contingent block the road and prevent the passage of these goods. The approach of the Armenian residents has once again shown that the claims of Armenia and some representatives of the Armenian residents regarding the "humanitarian situation" are nothing but political manipulation.
“As for the allegation about the unilateral opening of the Lachin road and plans to expel Armenian residents, we would like to state that currently, conditions are being created for Armenian residents to pass through the Lachin border checkpoint in both directions, and it is absurd to accuse the Azerbaijani side of implementing a policy of ethnic cleansing in the region.
“Apparently, the Armenian side, which committed genocide, mass killings, and ethnic cleansing against the Azerbaijanis living not only in the Azerbaijani territories it occupied but even in the territory of Armenia until the end of the 1980s, thinks that every state applies the same approach and has the same understanding.
“It would be better for the Prime Minister of Armenia, who supposedly supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, to support the policy of reintegration of the residents of Armenian origin living in the Karabakh region within the framework of Azerbaijani legislation and refrain from interferences in the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
“We hope that the Armenian side will correctly assess the post-conflict realities in the region and take a constructive position in the negotiations with Azerbaijan for the establishment of peace,” the MFA said.
