Azerbaijani mathematicians claim gold medals in US

Azerbaijani mathematicians grabbed 7 gold, 23 silver, and 13 bronze medals at the International Copernicus Olympiad held at Columbia University in New York, Report informs.

At the global stage of the International Olympiad organized by the Global Olympic Center, Azerbaijan was represented by a team of 60 talented students of different age groups selected from different schools.

Azerbaijani mathematicians competed with 22 countries in the international tournament, and the team was represented in 5 categories.

In the end, the Olympic winners were awarded. Khazar Ibrahim, Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States, congratulated all the participants and the Azerbaijani team at the awarding ceremony. The ambassador wished success to the young mathematicians.
