The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has expressed its condolences to the people and government of Pakistan regarding the numerous casualties in the recent snowstorm,
"We're deeply saddened on the news of the death of at least 23 people as a result of extreme weather during a snowstorm in Murree. We express our condolences to the People and Government of brotherly Pakistan. May Allah rest the souls of the victims of the tragic incident in peace!" the ministry tweeted.
Over 20 people have died after heavy snow trapped people in their vehicles in northern Pakistan on January 8,
As many as 1,000 vehicles became stranded as would-be tourists reportedly rushed to view the winter snowfall in the hilltop town of Murree.
A policeman, his wife and their six children, as well as another family-of-five, are among the dead.
The military says it has rescued more than 300 people stranded by the snow.
