Azerbaijani FM mulls co-op issues with ISESCO director general

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Salim bin Muhammad al-Malik, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and ISESCO, as well as the current situation in the region.

Bayramov expressed confidence that the opening of the ISESCO regional office in Azerbaijan will contribute to the further deepening of ties. The minister also expressed satisfaction with the election of Shusha city as the “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” in 2024.

The director general of ISESCO, in turn, noted the organization’s interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, and the importance of efforts to strengthen ties in the future.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest.
