Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed Louis Bono, US State Department’s Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations, about the peace talks with Armenia, Report informs with reference to Azerbaijan’s MFA.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on various aspects of the Azerbaijan-US bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, as well as the regional peace process in the post-conflict period.
Bayramov pointed out that the intensification of contacts between the officials of the two countries had a positive effect on the dynamics of the development of relations and talked about the importance of mutual visits in this direction.
The opposite side was informed in detail about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the direction of the normalization and peace process, as well as the latest developments on the peace agenda.
Azerbaijani minister stressed that the recent agreement reached between the delimitation commissions, which included the return of four villages of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia, reaffirms the usefulness of the bilateral negotiation process in making a real contribution to regional peace and confidence building.
The talka held in a constructive atmosphere in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on May 10-11, 2024, testify to the effectiveness of the bilateral peace process.
Senior Advisor Louis Bono noted that the recent processes taking place in the region create hope for the future of peace-building activities, and in turn, the US side is always ready to support and contribute to the negotiation process in this regard.
The sides also discussed issues of mutual interest during the meeting.
