There are also citizens of Azerbaijan among those who fled the war in Ukraine, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees said in response to a request from the European bureau of Report.
“Those who leave the war zone are not only citizens of Ukraine. Since flights have been canceled, among those who travel by land from Ukraine to Poland, and from there to Germany, there are also citizens of other countries. They will be provided with a safe return to their countries after the establishment of their citizenship. Currently, work is underway in this direction with the embassies of foreign countries in Germany. Many who found asylum in Germany were placed in refugee camps. Some were accepted by German families or relatives in this country,” reads the message.
It was noted that Azerbaijanis who are citizens of Ukraine also have the right to legally stay in Germany for 90 days: “A few days ago, political parties in Germany stated that citizens of Ukraine who received asylum in the countries of the European Union would be granted a residence permit for a period of one year on humanitarian grounds.”
