Azerbaijani builders will participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, as announced during the Azerbaijani delegation's visit to Irpen, a city in the Kyiv region of Ukraine.
Report's Eastern European bureau informs that the delegation which included Ilgar Isbatov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee, Jahangir Mammadrzayev, Director of the State Chief Project Institute Azermemarlayiha, Rovshan Rzayev, Director of the Laboratory of Earthquake-Resistant Buildings and Facilities of the Azerbaijan Construction and Architectural Scientific Research Institute, Elshan Baghirov, the leading specialist in engineering systems and communications of the Housing Construction State Agency MIDA LLC, "Construction of Road and Transport Facilities" was accompanied by Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine, Seymur Mardaliyev and embassy adviser Sabir Rzayev during their visit to Irpen.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the destroyed objects in Irpen within the framework of Azerbaijan's participation in projects related to the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Irpen Mayor Oleksandr Markushin welcomed and accompanied the Azerbaijani delegation. The delegation first visited the Irpen City Friendship Park named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva and laid flowers to the monument. Later, the delegation members got acquainted with the renovation works carried out in Lyceum No. 12 named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and visited the museum of the same name in the Lyceum. The delegation got acquainted with a number of civilian objects destroyed by the Russian army in the city in March of last year and carried out identification work.
Markushin told Report that the work to be done has already been determined: "Today we received guests from Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Ukraine came. We have agreed on issues to discuss. The Azerbaijani side offered its services and assistance in the reconstruction of our city. I thanked them for the work done, because last year they rebuilt the biggest school that was destroyed in our city. Today, that school operates. Even when the lights went out last year, the children went to school on time. They [Azerbaijan - ed.] provided the school with a large generator, so that there was no interruption in the children's lessons. Currently, SOCAR is renovating this school. This process is progressing rapidly and the work will be completed in September. What is most important is that the government of Azerbaijan expressed its desire to help Ukraine, including Irpen, in the reconstruction of many facilities. Today, the delegation will visit the facilities, we will show them the destroyed areas, and we will exchange ideas on the solutions to the project. We will decide what other projects they will take on. We have proposals for the reconstruction of the center's creativity building, hospital and residential building. Today we want to show all these facilities. There are already project solutions for these facilities, and it is only left to approve their financing."
Ilgar Isbatov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee, said that they got acquainted with the destruction in Irpen: "The mayor gave us detailed information and we discussed the restoration of a number of destroyed social-type objects. I think that we will come up with proposals for the restoration and reconstruction of those objects after carrying out appropriate evaluation works. The construction of these objects will be launched with the participation of Azerbaijani builders.
Ambassador Seymur Mardaliyev told Report that Azerbaijan has sent humanitarian aid to the region several times, taking into account the principles of humanism and relations with Ukraine: "During this period, Azerbaijan sent medical equipment, foodstuffs, as well as generators and transformers as aid to the people of Ukraine. As you know, at the conference held in London at the end of June, Azerbaijan joined the reconstruction projects of Ukraine as a continuation of the humanitarian projects. Azerbaijan will virtually participate in infrastructure projects related to the reconstruction of Ukraine in the post-war period. In fact, today's visit of the mission from Azerbaijan to Irpen is the practical beginning of the commitments we made in London.
We had a successful discussion at the Irpen City Hall, we visited those areas to familiarize ourselves with some infrastructure projects. It created a good opportunity for the delegation from Azerbaijan. They saw what projects they were talking about in real. That is, what exactly the city of Irpen needs and how the government of Azerbaijan can support it. We got acquainted with all this on the spot. These projects of ours are humanitarian projects. This is not our first job in Irpen. Last year, SOCAR Ukraine, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, carried out the restoration of secondary lyceum-school No. 12 named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva, on the basis of the order of the President of Azerbaijan. Additional repair works will be continued this year as well."
