"The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine is working in full force, and I am also at my workplace," the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova told Report.
"The Consulate of Azerbaijan continues its work; citizens wishing to leave for Azerbaijan can contact us. Appeals are also accepted from citizens with expired passports. Now, the safest place for Azerbaijanis living in Ukraine is their homes, since all roads are blocked, leaving the country is impossible. The situation in the country is dangerous. The evacuation of diplomats is not carried out yet. If there is an evacuation, 3-4 diplomats will stay and continue their work. We are looking for ways to evacuate the families of diplomats from Ukraine; there are about 40 of them. Besides, we will evacuate 17 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan who are attending courses in Kharkiv as soon as possible. It is not yet known how we will be able to take them out of the country," Akhundova said.
Elmira Akhundova noted that the embassy's hotline +380735050000 continues to operate and added that Azerbaijani citizens contact to obtain any relevant information.
The ambassador also urged Azerbaijani citizens to read the appeal of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, which was published earlier today.
