On December 2, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Tatiana Pugh Moreno, Deputy Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
The meeting covered current bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, as well as prospects for collaboration in the economic and trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, culture, and education sectors.
Minister Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the intensive political dialogue between the two countries and the contacts made through various visits and international events, emphasizing the importance of these discussions for determining specific plans in various fields.
Both parties also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation based on mutual support and solidarity within international organizations, especially the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement, and emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation within multilateral platforms.
It was noted that 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, and it would be beneficial to explore joint initiatives and events to celebrate this milestone.
Tatiana Pugh Moreno congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting COP29 last month and praised the high-level organization of the event, noting its significant contributions to climate change efforts.
During the meeting, they also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
As part of Deputy Minister Tatiana Pugh Moreno's visit, the second round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was held.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, while the Venezuelan delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tatiana Pugh Moreno.
The consultations discussed the prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations, future plans for further development, joint initiatives, and other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
