Azerbaijan, Syria discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Syria's Foreign Minister Asad al-Shaibani.

According to Report, the meeting took place within the framework of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul.

During the discussions, the ministers exchanged comprehensive views on expanding both bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Special attention was given to strengthening humanitarian aid initiatives and exploring opportunities for cooperation in post-conflict reconstruction efforts.

The importance of lifting unilateral sanctions imposed on Syria was emphasized, highlighting that their removal would play a crucial role in facilitating the country's reconstruction and long-term development.

The ministers also addressed current regional and international security concerns, focusing on recent developments in the Middle East, including the escalation between Israel and Iran.
