Azerbaijan supports Georgia at UN

A report entitled "Cooperation with Georgia" was presented at the 48th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Report informs.
The report reflects the situation on human rights in Georgia and occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili briefed the representatives of the UN member countries on the difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied territories.
He said that the occupiers' illegal laying of iron wires, the closure of the occupation line, and the refusal of medical evacuation resulted in the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the death of people.
The report says that the representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees were not allowed to enter the occupied territories, as in previous years. The document also calls for the creation of conditions for the entry of representatives of the High Commissioner and other international or regional organizations in the regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.
The European Union, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, and Sweden expressed support for Georgia. They welcomed the progress made in the protection of human rights in Georgia and expressed strong support for the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders. They also expressed concerns about the human rights situation in the occupied territories of Georgia.
Note that Azerbaijan has supported Georgia at the UN for the second time this year. In June 2021, Azerbaijan voted for a resolution on the status of IDPs and refugees from Georgia's Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region / South Ossetia adopted at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
