Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi who is visiting Azerbaijan.
Report informs citing the Foreign Ministry that during the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the agenda of current cooperation between Azerbaijan and the GCC, as well as prospects for the development of relations.
Along with this, they noted the importance of Azerbaijan's participation and close involvement in a number of regional GCC forums, especially in cooperation mechanisms with the countries of Central Asia, and its close participation in the processes.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the Baku Week and the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) Summit, chaired by Azerbaijan, and the agreements reached will give additional impetus to cooperation in the region.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest.
