Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Bayramov, UN Assistant Sec.-Gen Zuev mull regional situation

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Alexander Zuev, UN Assistant Secretary General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the activities of Azerbaijan within the UN, and Azerbaijan's large-scale initiatives within the UN in a number of areas, in particular in the field of peace and security, including the participation of Azerbaijani peacekeepers in various missions, were highly appreciated.

Noting the special importance of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the UN and its specialized structures, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the close cooperation of Azerbaijan as a donor country. The parties also exchanged views on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period.
