Azerbaijan, Indonesia abolish visa requirements for diplomats

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79), Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sides discussed covered bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, including preparations for COP29.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening relations in various sectors such as the economy, transport, and tourism.

They also highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation within international organizations like the UN, Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Minister Bayramov detailed Azerbaijan’s initiatives under its COP29 presidency and expressed readiness to work with Indonesia on climate change issues.

The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Indonesia, exempting holders of diplomatic and service passports from visa requirements.
