Azerbaijan's Prime Minister, Ali Asadov, met with a delegation led by Gilbert Houngbo, the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), on April 14, Report informs.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the long-term and effective partnership between Azerbaijan and the ILO. The Azerbaijani representatives emphasized that enhancing the social welfare of the population remains a primary focus of the country's state policy.
It was also highlighted that significant progress has been achieved in the social security of millions of people within the framework of four social reform packages implemented during the past period. The fifth reform package, introduced in January 2025, is expected to impact 3 million people.
Discussions also covered Azerbaijan's ongoing reforms aimed at boosting labor productivity, enhancing the labor rights system in line with progressive international standards, combating informal employment, and expanding employment programs.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the Azerbaijan-ILO partnership agenda and explore prospects for further cooperation.
