Azerbaijan elected as member of UN Economic and Social Council

Azerbaijan has once again been elected a member of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the US bureau of Report informs.

In the elections to the UN Economic and Social Council for 2025-2027, held at the UN General Assembly, Azerbaijan was elected as a member of the Council, receiving 148 votes.

ECOSOC is one of the main bodies coordinating cooperation between the UN and its specialized agencies in the economic and social spheres.

ECOSOC coordinates the work of 14 specialized UN organizations, their functional commissions and five regional commissions in the economic and social spheres.
