Azerbaijan discusses implementation of humanitarian programs with Saudi Arabia

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev met with one of the heads of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Abdulla al-Rabiah, to discuss the implementation of the center's programs in Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the ArabNews.

The envoy praised the “distinguished professional level shown by KSRelief in dealing with people in distress.”

It was noted that the Kingdom has spent more than $100 million in recent years on humanitarian and development aid to the republic, including shelter and humanitarian logistics, support for education, and rehabilitation of the water and sanitation system.

Saudi Arabia was one of the first that provided active humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijan, which suffered from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. For example, for five years from 1994 the Kingdom repeatedly provided refugees with food, medicine and other necessities.
