The recent snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, held on September 1, have garnered praise for the commendable number of female candidates, said Aygun Attar, Member of the Security and Foreign Policies Council under the President of Türkiye, Chairperson of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Foundation, Report informs.
"The high turnout of women voters is not only an indicator of democracy but also demonstrates that gender discrimination has no place in Azerbaijan," Attar emphasized.
The strong female presence in these elections is a significant milestone for Azerbaijan, she added.
