Antonio Costa: Azerbaijan, Armenia take important step towards lasting peace

The European Union (EU) remains committed to the implementation of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, President of the European Council António Costa said on X, Report informs.

“I had very positive phone calls this week with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan marks a significant step forward toward a lasting peace — for both countries and the wider region.

The EU remains fully committed to supporting its implementation and to strengthening regional connectivity, helping communities overcome years of conflict and move toward lasting peace, stability, and prosperity,” reads the post.
