ANAMA official discusses landmine problem with US delegation

Samir Poladov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), held a meeting with the delegation led by Tarlan Ahmadov, the Head of the Azerbaijan Society in the state of Maine, United States of America, Report informs, citing ANAMA.

The purpose of the delegation's visit is to exchange views on the real situation regarding the mine threat in the post-war period.

During the meeting with the officials of the state of Maine, United States of America, including public representatives, the history of the establishment of the Agency, the general directions of activities, the current problem of landmines in the liberated territories, the damage caused by landmines to human life and the environment, and the humanitarian demining carried out in the direction of their elimination operations were reported

In the meeting, the parties discussed the related rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in the liberated territories, cooperation prospects, as well as the possible participation of local and international organizations in the field of demining, and the questions of the guests were answered.
