“We thank the government of Azerbaijan for funding humanitarian demining activities. Because 95% of our budget is financed by the government, only 5% is implemented by international donors,” Samir Poladov, the Deputy Chairman of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), said at the II International Workshop on "Mine Action: Innovations and Best Practices" held in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, the liberated territories are still not accessible to everyone: “The reason for this is explosives. Mines have been placed in unexpected and unimaginable places in the territories. Roads, railways, and settlement areas built at the time have been mined.”
