Ambassador: Ukraine grateful for assistance provided by Azerbaijan

Ukraine is grateful for the assistance provided by Azerbaijan, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladyslav Kanevskyi told journalists, Report informs.

“The friendship of Azerbaijan and Ukraine has been tested by history. In the most difficult moments, our countries helped each other. Today we feel great support from Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people. This is both humanitarian aid and assistance in rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure in Ukraine. To date, the Azerbaijani government has already allocated more than $30 million for these purposes. We are very grateful that recently, by order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, an additional amount of $7.6 million was allocated,” the ambassador noted.

He stressed that the newly allocated amount will be used to restore the energy sector of Ukraine.

“We are very grateful that last winter many Ukrainians were able to survive the cold thanks to Azerbaijani help,” the diplomat added.
