Ali Asadov: Azerbaijan to continue decisive steps towards peace agenda in region

New realities open unique opportunities for sustainable peace and stability in the region, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov said, according to Report.

Speaking at the 11th summit of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation in Cairo, the prime minister emphasized that Azerbaijan is committed to the regional peace agenda and will continue its decisive steps in this direction.

Asadov reminded that during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, Armenia committed urbicide, culturecide, and ecocide:

"The cultural and religious heritage of the Azerbaijani people was destroyed, with 65 out of 67 mosques in these territories being demolished."

The prime minister emphasized that Azerbaijan has ended the Armenian occupation, fully restoring its territorial integrity and sovereignty. According to him, large-scale restoration and construction work is currently underway in the liberated territories: "Villages and cities are being rebuilt. Thousands of former internally displaced persons have already returned to their ancestral homeland."
