“Azerbaijan has a significant contribution to the diversification of Europe’s energy supply,” the President of Albania Ilir Meta said at the opening ceremony of the IX Global Baku Forum, Report informs.
He asserted that he hoped the expansion of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) would help boost gas supplies to Europe.
According to Meta, today's forum will allow the participants to discuss important issues of the modern world, including the war in Ukraine, the consequences of the pandemic, and energy security.
"We expect the war in Ukraine to lead to food shortages in 2023. In addition, energy security is under threat. That is why we plan to discuss all these issues here," the Albanian president stressed.
