AIR Center chief comments on Georgia's regional initiative

"Azerbaijan has ended the occupation of its lands and is ready for regional cooperation. The 3+3 format is also aimed at cooperation with the countries of the region and all neighbors," Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the International Relations Analysis Center (AIR Center), said commenting on Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili's "Peaceful Neighborhood Initiative", Report's local bureau informs.

According to him, the steps taken in recent months show that Azerbaijan is practically pursuing a policy of peaceful neighborliness.

Farid Shafiyev noted that Georgia was invited to the 3+3 format and the reason why the country did not join the initiative is clear: "The doors are open and Georgia can be represented in the format whenever it sees relevant. Azerbaijan will continue to cooperate directly with Georgia and with Turkey in a trilateral format."
