Advisor to TRNC president: Azerbaijan among countries most committed to combating Islamophobia

Azerbaijan, by organizing a large-scale event to combat Islamophobia, has proven that it is one of the most committed countries in this direction, reads an article by Huseyin Isiksal, Special Adviser to the President of Northern Cyprus, following his participation in the international scientific conference on Islamophobia in Baku, according to Report.

"Azerbaijan is one of the most committed countries in the fight against Islamophobia. This is also evidenced by the country's ongoing successful efforts in this direction under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev," he said.

The expert called the conference on "Islamophobia: Exposing Prejudices and Destroying Stigmas" held in Baku on May 26-27 a significant event that brought together scientists, diplomats, officials and specialists in the fight against Islamophobia from more than 40 countries.

"The event featured meaningful discussions on the global, historical, theological and political dimensions underlying Islamophobia," Isiksal said.

In his article, he reminded that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had sent an address to the conference participants, emphasizing the country's determination to continue the fight against Islamophobia.

The forum ended with a call for international solidarity in the fight against Islamophobia and the protection of the rights of Muslim communities around the world, he added.
