3+3 platform to assist development of economic ties in the region, expert says

If the 3+3 platform becomes a full-fledged organization, it will help normalize ties between Turkey and Armenia, as well as between Azerbaijan and Armenia, an expert on international conflicts Yevgeny Mikhailov said.

I"The only question is whether Yerevan will be able to step over the millennial myths about its exclusivity, stop living in the past, and already start living in the present," he said.

According to Mikhailov, in case of successful implementation of cooperation within the framework of the platform, the South Caucasus region has every chance of becoming one of the main transport hubs of Eurasia. "There are all prerequisites for this. Moreover, the active restoration of the liberated territories by Azerbaijan also contributes to the strengthening of the region. And again, the future opening of the Zangazur corridor is actually the opening of a powerful traffic flow between the countries, which will lead to the strengthening of the economies of not only the platform participants but also other major international players," he said.

Mikhailov added that if the platform works, the further development of economic and other ties will continue to grow.

"I would like to note that, in my opinion, the 3 + 3 platform has a great future," he concluded.
