UEFA agrees to organize third European Cup tournament

Baku. 11 September. REPORT.AZ/ UEFA has agreed to organize the third European Cup among the clubs for the 2021-2022 season, the President of the European Club Association (ECA), Andrea Agnelli said speaking to Football Italia, according to Report.
He said the new tournament will be added to the existing Champions League and Europa League.
"We were waiting for UEFA's approval, and they have already given the “green light”. 96 clubs will compete in the new tournament," said Agnelli.
The format of the new race is still unknown. But it is expected to be similar to the previous UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. That tournament was organized from the 1960-1961 until the 1998-1999 season with the participation of teams, winning the cup of UEFA’s member states.
