Solskjaer rejects Denmark job amid talks with 'major club'

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned down the opportunity to become Denmark's national team coach, opting instead to pursue negotiations with a top club, Report informs via Tribuna.

Solskjaer, who managed United from 2018 to 2021, was approached by the Danish Football Association (DBU) to replace Kasper Hjulmand.

However, according to Danish publication Tipsbladet, Solskjaer declined the offer due to ongoing talks with a major club regarding a head coaching position.

DBU director of football Peter Moller refused to comment on Solskjaer's decision, citing the organization's policy of not discussing potential candidates.

Solskjaer recently expressed interest in returning to Manchester United if given the opportunity.

The Norwegian's decision means he will not be working with United duo Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund, who are currently with Denmark's national team.

Denmark faces Spain and Switzerland in upcoming Nations League fixtures, with Lars Knudsen serving as interim coach.

Solskjaer's future remains uncertain, but his rejection of the Denmark job suggests a return to club management may be imminent.
