Bulgarian football club Ludogorets parted ways with their head coach Georgi Dermendzhiev following a devastating 2-7 loss against Azerbaijan's Qarabag in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

According to Report, which cites Match Telegraph, the decision to dismiss Dermendzhiev will be officially announced in the coming hours. The coach returned to Ludogorets in 2023 for his second stint.

Ludogorets had secured a narrow 2-1 victory in the first leg in Baku, but their hopes of advancing to the next round were crushed by a determined Qarabag side in the return match. The Azerbaijani champions showcased their attacking prowess, scoring an impressive seven goals to overturn the deficit and eliminate Ludogorets from the competition.
