Head coach of Azerbaijan national team: 'Opponents preparing for matches with greater responsibility'

"Opponents are preparing for matches against Azerbaijan with special responsibility, since we are the hosts of the tournament," the head coach of the Azerbaijani national minifootball team Elshad Guliyev told journalists after the match with Bahrain (1:1) at the World Championship held in Baku, Report informs.

The specialist commented on Azerbaijan's debut match at the tournament: "I knew that the first match would be difficult. Since we are the host side, the opponents are preparing for us with special responsibility. We want to perform well in the next matches and finish the group stage in first place. When the team became the European champion, we also lost the first match - to the Romanian team. I would not say that we played poorly today. We were just unlucky. We had many chances to score a goal. Unfortunately, we couldn't implement any of them."

The 2025 Minifootball World Cup will end on June 1.
