Azerbaijan has once again shown that it can hold prestigious competitions brilliantly, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov said, Report informs.

The minister, in a conversation with journalists after the award ceremony of the Minifootball World Cup in Baku, noted that the tournament was organized at a high level.

"We have had success in minifootball before. The team won the gold medal at the European Championship. This success was supplemented by the championship at the World Cup. The people of Azerbaijan are delighted. Many thanks to the fans who didn't abandon the team. Azerbaijan has once again confirmed that it can hold such competitions brilliantly. The UFC tournament and the CIS Games are ahead. I am sure that we will pass these tests with honor, too," Gayibov said.

The Azerbaijani team beat Hungary in the finals with a score of 4:2 and became the winner of the World Cup.
