WB awards grant for solid waste management project in Absheron

The World Bank has awarded Azerbaijan a $505,000 grant to develop the Livable Baku Project, Report informs.
The Ministry of Economy is the client for the six-month project. The funds will be used to develop a feasibility study for the creation of a unified solid waste management system in Absheron.
Part of the grant will be used for consulting services. Specialists will review the existing feasibility study, conduct additional analyses, and prepare an updated version, including investment scenarios and financial and economic calculations.
Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2025.
