Vugar Gulmammadov: Azerbaijan to conduct parallel audits with Türkiye and Kazakhstan

The supreme audit institutions of Azerbaijan and Türkiye are considering the possibility of conducting parallel audits in the future in the fields of climate change and agriculture, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Vugar Gulmammadov told journalists.

Report quotes him as saying a parallel audit of expenses related to the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) has already been conducted.

The chairman noted that Azerbaijan currently has bilateral memorandums with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, and China within the framework of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI):

“Within the framework of these memorandums, seminars, trainings, and knowledge exchanges are being held. This year, we reached an agreement with Kazakhstan to conduct a parallel audit, and the document is expected to be signed in September.”

Speaking about the 62nd meeting of the ASOSAI Governing Board held in Baku, Gulmammadov noted that Azerbaijan intends to join the working group on forecasting and evaluating public finances.

It was also noted that this is the second time the meeting is being held in Baku, and Azerbaijan, as a member of the ASOSAI Board, is actively participating in its work:

“Today, alongside the discussion of the report on work done in previous periods, a strategic plan for 2026–2028 is being developed, as well as an action plan to be implemented within its framework.”
