US dollar rises against euro

The US dollar exchange rate is actively growing against the euro on February 28 morning due to the global risk of aversion of investors due to the situation in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Russia, Report informs referring to the auction data.

Thus, the euro exchange rate against the US dollar in the morning fell to $1.1148 per euro from the last closing level of $1.1267. The dollar against the yen remained at the previous close of 115.56 yen per dollar. The dollar index (the exchange rate against a basket of currencies of six countries - the main US trading partners) rose by 0.78% to 97.37 points.

According to analysts, the growth of the US currency rate against the euro is due to the global risk aversion of investors. The dollar is maintained by fears of the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions for the entire global economy.
