Taleh Kazimov: Azerbaijan to form new format currency exchange offices

Currency exchange points in a new format will be formed in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Report informs.
He noted that the amendment to the law ‘On the Central Bank’ also includes this issue.
He added that it is planned to create not small, but institutional currency exchange departments.
The activity of currency exchange offices in the country has been suspended since 2016. In accordance with the amendments made to the law ‘On currency regulation,’ since 2018 Azerbaijan began licensing the activities of currency exchange offices.
