Tahir Mirkishili: Tax incentives for media will cost the state budget 10 million manats

Tax incentives provided to media entities will cost the state budget 10 million manats ($5,882,352), chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Tahir Mirkishili said at today's meeting of the committee.

According to him, the state budget will lose income in such a volume: "This is not a small amount in terms of supporting media entities. However, the development of media will increase revenues coming to the budget from other areas."

The chairman of the committee noted that millions of advertising funds are "leaking" from Azerbaijan abroad: "This can be seen in social networks. Today, social networks are ahead of media entities in terms of advertising, they use more flexible tools. This problem is characteristic not only of Azerbaijan, but observed worldwide. Tax changes will allow media actors to act more flexibly."
