Samir Sharifov: World Bank may provide soft loan for Karabakh reconstruction

The World Bank may provide a soft loan to Azerbaijan for the reconstruction of Karabakh, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said at a meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev on the results of the first quarter of this year, Report informs.

“The World Bank offers us special terms. If we reach a full agreement with them by the middle of next year, we will benefit from those terms. That is, taking into account the process of reconstruction of our Karabakh, they have decided that they can give us loans on favorable terms. Under these conditions, we can choose the projects we need. That is, there are projects, such as the construction of roads, we should not attract foreign currency to them. But in any case, we must take into account our foreign exchange costs when choosing projects. Probably, we could raise funds for these purposes,” he noted.
