Samir Sharifov: 'We must be very careful about further increases in public spending'

High inflation is observed in Azerbaijan just like elsewhere in the world, which leads to decline in earnings, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said, as quoted by Report.
The minister noted that even if the budget revenues are increasing, it is necessary to fund spending: "Therefore, we must be very careful about further increases in public spending."
He said the salaries of workers in public sector have been increased.
The 2023 state budget bill provides for the allocation of 228.5 million manats ($132.82 million) to finance the sphere of science, up 23.5 million manats ($13.82 million) or 11.5% from this year and 76.7 million manats ($45.12 million) or 50.5% more than in 2021.
