Samir Sharifov: " Under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the economy quickly returned from a negative trend to a positive one"

"Last year, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani economy quickly returned from a negative trend to a positive economic growth rate," Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov remarked during the discussion of the draft law "On the execution of the state budget for 2021" in the second reading at an extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis, Report informs.

According to him, the country's economy has recovered faster than expected and has shown a higher growth rate. The main tasks set for the state budget have been fulfilled.

"Of course, there are certain issues. They are always raised during the discussions, and traditionally the issues are investigated by the government. As noted by the MPs, as well as the Chamber of Accounts, certain proposals are made by the government based on further analysis of several issues. These are reflected in the state budgets or forecasts for the coming years.

In general, if we look at the picture of 2021, we have restored economic growth in a short time. We have ensured a faster return to economic growth," he stressed.
