In January-February this year, goods worth 7 billion manats were sold to consumers in Azerbaijan’s retail network, including food products, drinks and tobacco products - for 3.9 billion manats, non-food products, drinks and tobacco products - for 3.12 billion manats, Report informs citing the State Statistics Committee.
Compared to January-February last year, the retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 3%, including food products, drinks and tobacco products - by 2.65%, and non-food products, drinks and tobacco products - by 3.5%.
During the reporting period, 9.4% of funds spent by buyers on final consumption goods were for food, 6% for drinks and tobacco products, 15.5% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.26% for motor gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.9% for electrical goods and furniture, 2.52% for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, 1.2% for the purchase of computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, and 15.3% for other non-food products.
During the reporting period, the cost of goods sold by economic entities of the non-state sector increased in real terms by 3.2% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 99.7% of the total retail trade turnover. Compared to January-February 2021, the retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 12.2% for enterprises, by 0.4% for individual entrepreneurs, and by 0.1% for markets and fairs.
On average, an Azerbaijani resident spent 346.2 manats per month on goods, including 199.9 manats on food, drinks and tobacco products, and 167.9 manats on non-food products.
