Putin: Credibility of US dollar decreasing in the world

Credibility of US dollar is decreasing in the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to Putin, the US authorities themselves are to blame.

“These profound changes require the adaptation of international financial organizations, a rethinking of the role of the dollar, which, becoming an international reserve currency, has now turned into tool of pressure in hands of issuing country on the rest of the world,”- Putin said.

The head of state also said that the role of regional currencies is increasing.
