Baku. 29 November. REPORT.AZ/ "As a result of cooperation with the shopping website, which is considered as Turkey’s ‘Amazon’, we held sales campaign for our clients from Azerbaijan. Consequently, shopping from Azerbaijan via this website quadrupled within two months," said the Country Manager of Mastercard in Azerbaijan, Erdem Cakar, Report informs.
According to him, Mastercard is interested in growth of cashless payments in Azerbaijan and will increase investments.
"Cashless payments currently make up 3.5-4% of GDP in Azerbaijan, while this figure is 40% in Turkey and some European countries. Mastercard intends to apply ‘masterpass’ service in Azerbaijan. Via this service, you will be able to save your passwords and there will be no need to reinsert them while shopping," Cakar said.
The manager also noted that Mastercard will start shopping via Facebook Messenger in Azerbaijan: "People won’t need to enter any website anymore and they will be able to order during conversation. This will probably be available via ‘whatsapp’ too in the future."
