IMF forecasts decrease in unemployment rate in Azerbaijan

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts a decrease in the unemployment rate in Azerbaijan from 5.4% in 2024 to 5.3% in 2025.
As Report informs with reference to the IMF, in 2026 the unemployment rate will remain at 5.3%.
According to the data from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, as of March 1, there were 1,758,800 employed workers in the country's economy. Of these, 878,500 worked in the public sector, and 880,300 in the non-governmental sector. The largest share of employment is in education (18.7%), trade and vehicle repair (18.6%), industry (13.7%), and healthcare (8.5%).
