IMF: Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves will exceed $72B by 2030

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts that Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves will reach $71.67 billion in 2025 (an annual increase of 0.96%), Report informs.

According to the IMF's forecasts, the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will amount to 10.76 billion (a decrease of 1.82% over the year), and the assets of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) will amount to 60.91 billion (an increase of 1.47%).

In 2026, strategic foreign exchange reserves will reach $72.36 billion (+0.96%), of which $10.56 billion (-1.89%) is held by the CBA and $61.8 billion (+1.46%) by SOFAZ. In 2027, these figures are projected at $72.22 billion (-0.18%), $10.36 billion (-1.89%) and $61.86 billion (+0.11%), respectively.

In turn, in 2028, the country's strategic foreign exchange reserves are expected to be 71.75 billion (-0.65%), the CBA's reserves are 10.16 billion (-1.93%), SOFAZ's assets are $61.59 billion (-0.44%), and in 2029, they are expected to be $72.18 billion (+0.6%), $9.96 billion (-1.97%), and $62.22 billion (+1.02%), respectively.
