IFC reveals its strategic priorities in Azerbaijan

One of the strategic priorities of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Azerbaijan is to support the transition to a new development model of the private sector, IFC's representative in Azerbaijan, Aliya Azimova, said at the event titled “Raising Ambition, Delivering Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum”, Report informs.

According to her, the IFC will continue to support Azerbaijan's decarbonization efforts: "Despite the risks and difficulties in this field, there are many opportunities."

In the last 30 years, IFC has invested more than $800 million in over 60 projects in Azerbaijan. Moreover, the corporation has supported government initiatives in more than 20 areas, focusing on the investment climate, renewable energy sources, corporate governance, SMEs development, agribusiness and the financial sector.
