IFC official: Women may contribute $28 trl to global economy

Baku. 9 March. REPORT.AZ/ Women globally work 2/3 part of working hours, but earn only 10% of global incomes. 

Report informs, Chairperson of IFC Azerbaijan office Aliya Azimova told at the event “Next opening Bell in Baku Stock Exchange” dedicated to gender equality.

She noted that women have equal education opportunities only in 25 countries of the world: “Today women have 27% less opportunities than males in labor market. Comparing to males, females have less possibility to be accepted to the job. 2.4% of companies in Azerbaijan are managed by women as opposed to 18.6% in Europe and Central Asia. Women are represented in top management of 4.5% of companies. This indicator in European and Central Asian countries is 30%”.
