Gold falling in anticipation of Fed’s minutes

Gold prices fell on February 16 morning ahead of the publication of the minutes of the US Federal Reserve System, Report informs.
The price of April gold futures on the Comex New York stock exchange fell by $2.25, or 0.12%, to $1,853.95 per troy ounce. March silver futures rose 0.16% to $23.358 an ounce.
On February 16, investors are focused on the forthcoming publication of the minutes of the January meeting of the US Federal Reserve. Market participants hope to receive hints on the regulator's further monetary policy.
In addition, the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense about the return of the Russian armed forces to their places of permanent deployment after the exercises somewhat defused the situation around Ukraine and returned investors’ appetite for risk. The consequence was a decrease in interest in safe-haven assets such as gold.
