Forbes compiled a ranking of the ten most impoverished Russian billionaires in 2022, which is led by the main shareholder of Severstal Alexei Mordashov and his family.
According to Report citing TASS, Mordashov and his family saw their fortune down by $11.1 billion over the past year, to $18.4 billion. Russian ferrous metallurgy has become one of the sectors most affected by Western sanctions, Forbes noted.
Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder of the Wildberries marketplace, ranks second, with her fortune down by $8.3 billion over the year to $4.7 billion. Oleg Tinkov is the last in the ranking of the three, with the fortune of the entrepreneur, who sold a stake in TCS Group to Vladimir Potanin in April, down by $5.9 billion to $0.87 billion, according to Forbes.
The article says that the ten most impoverished businessmen in Russia also included Roman Abramovich - his fortune decreased by 5.6 billion, to $8.7 billion, the head and main owner of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov (-$5.1 billion, to $21 billion), Leonid Fedun and his family (-$4.2 billion, to 7.5 billion), founder of the Renova group Viktor Vekselberg (-$4.1 billion, to $5.2 billion), Novatek shareholder Gennady Timchenko ( -$3.97 billion, to $20.8 billion), Chairman of the Board of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson (-$3.3 billion, to $24.4 billion), as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Russian Copper Company Igor Altushkin (-$2.8 billion, to $3.4 billion).
