Eurozone GDP grew by 0.4% in Q3 exceeding expectations

Eurozone GDP grew by 0.4% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the previous three months, according to the European Union's statistical office, which presented preliminary data, Report informs referring to Interfax.

On an annual basis, the eurozone economy grew by 0.9%. Experts on average expected eurozone GDP growth in July-September to be 0.2% quarter-on-quarter and 0.8% year-on-year, according to Trading Economics.

In the second quarter of this year, the eurozone economy grew by 0.2% compared to the previous three months and by 0.6% year-on-year. Germany's GDP in July-September grew by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter, France's by 0.4%, Spain's by 0.8%, while Italy's remained unchanged.

The European Union economy grew by 0.3% compared to the previous three months and by 0.9% year-on-year. This is the first of three GDP change estimates. The second estimate will be published on November 14.
